Why GMAT prep stalls

Rocket fixes all three, in one chat.

Meet your coaching team

Six coaches, each in its own chat. They work from the same study plan and remember every session, so you never start from zero.

From first message to test day

  1. Tell the Counselor your goal.

Target schools, exam date, current level and how many hours a week you can give. It's a conversation, not a questionnaire. No practice score yet? The Counselor will suggest a free official practice exam to start from.

  2. Get your plan in about 10 minutes.

A day-by-day schedule of 25–60-minute sessions, each with one clear goal. It puts more time on your weakest areas, builds in official practice exams and weekly reviews, and keeps the final week light.

  3. Study with your tutors.

Open today's session in the right coach's chat. Practice adapts to you skill by skill: get it right and it gets harder; struggle and the coach slows down to teach.

  4. Stay on course.

A short check-in every morning, in the app and by email. Busy week at work? Tell the Counselor and your plan adjusts.

That's the classic trap, and the reason this question exists. Try a $100 jacket: up 20% is $120. Down 20% of $120 is $24, so you land at $96. The two changes aren't taken from the same base. The answer is B.

The GMAT changed in 2023, but plenty of prep material still teaches the old test. Rocket teaches only what's on the exam you'll sit.

Built by someone who's been where you are

The first time I opened a GMAT prep book, I was scared. I went on to score 760, in the top 1%, and I've taught the GMAT since 2014.

Over those years I noticed that the students who reached their target had three things: a clear plan, fast help when they got stuck, and someone who noticed when they slipped. That used to mean an expensive private tutor.

Rocket gives all three to everyone: the method I've refined with my students, built into six coaches that are there whenever you study.

  • Former consultant, Bain & Company
  • MBA, University of Chicago Booth School of Business
  • MA, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology
  • GMAT 760 / 800, top 1% (pre-2023 scale)
  • IELTS 8.5 / 9 · TOEFL 118 / 120
  • Teaching the GMAT since 2014

Questions, answered

Is Rocket really free during the beta?
Yes. The first 500 students get every coach for as long as the beta runs, with no card needed. Before it ends we'll email you, and you can keep everything at the founding price of $79/month (the standard price will be $99) or move to the free plan.
What happens when all 500 seats are taken?
You can still join straight away at the founding price of $79/month, locked in for as long as you stay subscribed.
Can an AI really coach me for the GMAT?
Rocket's coaches run on Claude, the AI model by Anthropic. They teach the way a good tutor does: they ask before they lecture, explain step by step and adjust to how you're doing. Your answers are checked against the answer key by the app, never by the AI's opinion. An explanation can still slip now and then; if something looks off, ask the coach to walk through it again, or tell us at hello@rocketgmat.com.
Is Rocket for the GMAT Focus Edition?
Yes, and only for it. The Focus Edition is the only GMAT offered today, so everything in Rocket is built for its three sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights.
How long will it take me to prepare?
That depends on where you start, your target and the time you have. Tell the Counselor your exam date and weekly hours. It will tell you honestly whether the timeline works, and what to change if it doesn't.
How much time do I need each day?
Sessions are 25 to 60 minutes, only on the days you choose. Your plan fits the weekly hours you give the Counselor.
Does Rocket include official practice exams?
Official practice exams come from GMAC, the maker of the GMAT, and the first ones are free on mba.com. Your plan schedules them at the right moments, and the Counselor reviews each one with you afterwards.
Do you guarantee a score?
No. Your score depends on the work you put in, and no one can honestly promise a number. What Rocket does promise: you'll always know what to study next, and you'll get help the moment you're stuck.
What devices does Rocket work on?
Any phone, tablet or laptop with a modern browser. There's nothing to download. Sign in with your email or Google.
What's Rocket + Alibek?
Everything in Rocket, plus Alibek in your corner for three months: a weekly WhatsApp check-in, three 50-minute 1:1 video calls, and a review of your school list, CV and essays. There are 10 seats a month. You apply, Alibek replies personally, and you pay by secure link.
Is my data private?
Your chats and progress are yours: other users can't see them, and we never sell your data. What you tell the Well-being Coach stays private from the other coaches. To write replies, your messages are processed by Anthropic, which doesn't use them to train its models.
Is the Well-being Coach a therapist?
No. It helps with motivation, routine, stress and balancing study with work. If you're struggling with your mental health or are in crisis, please contact a professional or your local emergency services.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Paid plans are monthly, and you can cancel anytime.
How do I reach a person?
Email hello@rocketgmat.com. A real person reads every message.
